Individuals or couples who visit The Dwelling Place can request lodging in one of our two available hermitages: Clare House or Francis House.
Each hermitage is a self-contained, air-conditioned cottage that includes private bath, dressing, sleeping, and living areas as well as kitchen/dining facilities.
Umbria Guest House is designed to accommodate small groups and includes four bedrooms, each with an adjoining bath. A spacious living room lends itself to meetings or other group activities. Meals can be prepared in a fully-equipped kitchen and enjoyed in the adjacent dining area. Large front and back porches provide areas for guests to mingle informally.

Our meditation path includes Stations of the Cross
The hermitages and Umbria Guest House are surrounded by 17 acres of pine-studded land. The rural setting is secluded, yet easily accessible to main highways.
Retreatants are often drawn to the natural beauty of the grounds. A sheltered seating area near our pond and bridge serves as one of many outdoor spaces that can be used for quiet time. Stations of the Cross along our meditation path also provide an opportunity for personal prayer and reflection.

Additionally... visitors may choose to supplement the time spent in retreat by participating in the common prayer of The Dwelling Place staff and their daily Communion service. An extensive spirituality lending library is available to interested guests.
Individuals may also either join in one or more meals with the staff and other visitors or bring their own food and prepare it in the privacy of the kitchen provided in each hermitage.
