The Dwelling Place Community (see photo) gathered to plant a Bradford pear tree in memory of Sr. Maggie Kosse, Phillip Pepper, and Gene Hicks on February 9, 2002. The blossoms and beauty of the tree will be a lasting memorial to the gifts these special people shared in this ministry.

Stations of the Cross to Become a Reality

Since 1990 we have had a dream that Stations of the Cross would be erected on our property as an aid to prayer on the Passion of Christ- a means of focusing on the central act of our Redemption and an aid to meditation.

Since that time donations have been given for that purpose and over the years we have had a fund slowly building for their creation. However, each time we started to take action, a more pressing need had to be met.

Two hooded employees load the cedar enroute to Yoder Woodworks. Any guesses who they might be??

During the summer of 1994 a severe storm went through Macon; lightning struck 2 massive cedar trees on the Corpus Christi Church grounds. In February, 1995 the parishoners gave us a trunk to be used for Stations of the Cross. Roy Dee and friends had the massive log delivered here on February 11 to begin its drying process.

Eighteen months later, Gerald Traufler, a sculptor from Le Mars, Iowa, directed us to have the logs cut into 2" planks for more careful curing. The wood has been stored in our tool house for six years waiting for the proper time. It came this past week!

Mr. Kevin Yoder, a highly respected woodworker in Crawford, Mississippi, will create the shrines which will 'house' each of the fifteen bronze stations. The shrines and posts will be entirely of cedar. The precious wood is now being put to its intended use.

We now involve each of you. So that you may share in the creation of the Stations and sacred path we offer you the opportunity to "purchase" a station in honor of or memory of someone you hold dear.

The suggested offering is $400. If you would like to be part of this, please print this page, fill in the form below, and return it at your earliest convenience. Your name and that of your loved one will be placed on a plaque at the base of each shrine.
