How You Can Help Us---
The mission of The Dwelling Place is to provide an environment that is conducive to silence, solitude, and prayer. This enables retreatants to experience movement toward a deeper awareness of self, creation, and the Holy.
We so appreciate the support that you give us in so many ways. Some suggestions follow. They are meant purely as jumping off places for your own creativity and the movement of the Holy Spirit.
Be a Dwelling Place Partner
- Partner with us through Prayer and Planned Giving;
- Prayer: Praise and thank God for all that is provided;
- Pray for guidance for the staff and board as we plan for the future. Pray for needed resources to meet our operating budget;
- Planned Giving: Commit to making a monthly or quarterly donation in support of the ministry.
Sponsor a Day
- Make a gift of one day's suggested donation to help those who need to "Be Still' but can't afford to come even with a partial scholarship.
Volunteer
- Become a volunteer speaker for the Dwelling Place;
- Offer to speak at local civic groups and/or church groups about the importance of solitude in a well-balanced life;
- Volunteer a day helping out where needed at The Dwelling Place.
Seek Funding
- Enquire about a matching gift with employer;
- Solicit a donation from an organization that supports non-profits;
Tell Your Personal Story
- Share your experience at The Dwelling Place with at least two people whom you think might make a retreat;
- See if your local newspaper would like to feature an article on a place for solitude and reflection;
Become a Dwelling Place Associate
- Check out what the possibilities for service and growth through sharing in this ministry and community might hold for you.
The Bridge of our Dreams
Mary, Philip Knepp and his son pose on the bridge for its first photo. Mr. Knepp operates Grassy Ridge Gazebos in Brooksville and created it to assist in the drainage behind Umbria Guest House.
The bridge has been resting during the drought we are experiencing but it has assisted in cornering a pesky armadillo! We are continuing to dream about a larger bridge like it to replace the old one near the pond.
