OUR VALUES

Below you can see a preview of the Core Values of Dwelling Place Church.  This list has grown, because we are always growing.  Our Values are more than just memorable phrases - they are a language we speak.  Therefore, we’ve created a playlist with some videos to help you catch the rich messages behind each value. Dwelling Place / First Love
We are dedicated to (and learning how to) have community that is centered around the presence of Jesus in our midst.  All our doing comes from first being with Him.

Testimony
When God acts, we testify! We foster a culture where people are continually speaking of what Jesus has done for them, which produces faith that he will do it again.

Great Faith
If you want to see a miracle, just say “yes” to God! A lifestyle of trusting Him comes from intimacy in knowing Him.

Multi-Generational
"One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” Psalm 145:4 In unity and with honor, we contend for all generations to walk together focused on Jesus.

Royal Generosity
We believe "God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others”, 2 Corinthians 9:8.  Materialism, the love of money, and a poverty mentality have no place in our culture.  Instead, we overflow in confident identity that we serve an abundant God — and we have great faith for the purposes of His heart. When we see a need, we “tear the loaf” (Matt. 14:15-20) as Jesus taught His disciples to do.

Father's Love
We are called to live in the Love Realm, which is the reality of the Father’s unchanging love towards us.
We can thrive with a sonship identity.

Find Your Family. Find Your Destiny.
No person's destiny is carried completely in themselves; but it is found within the community of those called alongside them.

Word
God’s Word is alive and is the foundation for all truth.

Compassion
Jesus is the desire of all nations, and we are moved with compassion to get outside the four walls of our church and reach the world with love and compassion. This includes reaching the lost with the Gospel, caring for the poor, helping those in need, and loving our neighbors as Christ has loved us.

Encounter
We are called to live continually experiencing the goodness of God.

Joy
“...in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11. Joy is the reward of the greatest adventure; doing life with Jesus. Serving God is fun!

Honor
Every person is valuable and deserving of honor. We are committed to helping people find their unique and divine purpose. And when we honor others we receive honor’s reward. (Matt. 10:41)

Transformation
Every Christian is a minister to their sphere of influence and anointed to bring change to the world. We long to see revival that is transformational in every sphere of culture.

Kingdom Culture
"For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves” Colossians 1:13.  As believers, we now live in the Kingdom’s system, which is distinct from the way the world operates. We often call this the Kingdom Operating System, or Kingdom OS. Our perspective and lifestyle is “Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” (Matt. 6:10)

Glorious Church
We are seeking to be a church that looks and acts like Jesus.  As we know Him more and more, we grow and change!

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by the hands of men, by the direct guidance of the Holy Spirit. We accept it as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:16-21, Matthew 5:18, John 16:12,13

ABOUT GOD
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 15:26, 2 Corinthians 13:14

ABOUT JESUS
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, as both God and man, is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He was born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God, lived a sinless and perfect life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe the Lord Jesus is ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry as Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. We believe Jesus is coming back again as He promised. John 1:1,2, Luke 1:35, Matthew 1:18, Matthew 25:31, John 19 & 20, Acts 1:9-11, Romans 3:24, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Peter 4:5, Hebrews 7:25, 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17, 1 Timothy 4:1

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin. He is the Supernatural Agent of regeneration, baptizing all believers into the Body of Christ. We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be filled (baptized) with the power of the Holy Spirit which is received subsequent to the new birth. The infilling of the Holy Spirit gives believers power to be witnesses for Jesus Christ and enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues. Acts 1:4-5, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:1-6, Matthew 3:11, John 14:16,17, John 16:8-11, 2 Corinthians 3:6, Romans 8:9, Ephesians 5:18

ABOUT MANKIND
We believe mankind is a created in the likeness of God. We believe that through Adam's transgression, sin has entered the world and separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. Apart from Jesus, mankind is spiritually dead and unable to save itself. Salvation was provided through Jesus becoming a man Himself and dying as our substitute. Through Christ alone we are made alive in all our fullness and union with God. Romans 5:12, 1 Peter 1:18-19, Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:22,23, Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:8, 1 John 3:8

ABOUT SALVATION
We believe God does not desire for any to perish, but that all would be saved, and that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the 'new birth' we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives. It is by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved. 1 John 5:11-12, John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 7:10, Ephesians 2:8-10, Ephesians 1:7, 1 Peter 1:18-19

ABOUT WATER BAPTISM
We believe baptism by immersion in water is a commandment of Jesus Christ for believers only. It is a public representation of the believer's identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:36-37, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12

ABOUT HEALING
We believe God wants to heal and transform us so we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively. Physical healing was provided for in the atonement of Christ, and it is to be received through faith, by the laying on of hands, by the anointing with oil, and by the prayer of faith. Isaiah 53:5, Deuteronomy 7:15, 1 Peter 2:24, James 5:14,15, Mark 16:18, Matthew 8:17

ABOUT THE CHURCH
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ made up of all born-again people. We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in New Testament scripture. We believe the Church is God's plan and vessel through which he works His divine will on earth. We believe Christians are to be part of a local church, and the Church is called to minister to the individual, the community, and the world.
Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 1:22,23, Ephesians 5:25-27, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 2 Corinthians 11:2, Acts 13:1-4; 14:27; 15:19-31; 18:22; 20:17; 20:28, 1 Timothy 3:1-3, Titus 1:5-11, Romans 16:1-4, 1 Corinthians 3:9, 1 Corinthians 5:4-7, 1 Peter 5:1-4
